At Painfree Dentistry we have dedicated dentists that offer treatments that are effective, successful and are as painless as possible. Why Should You Have Tooth Replacements?

We recommend dental implant treatments for tooth replacement. This solution restores teeth that are missing, failing, loose teeth, decayed teeth, broken teeth, cracked teeth or teeth that are in bad condition and cannot be saved. Missing teeth should be fixed as it can cause problems with your eating and your smile in the future.

Implants to Replace Multiple Teeth

To restore multiple teeth, you will need a dental implant bridge. The use of a bridge is the main difference between the treatment of a single tooth and multiple ones. It is a special type of bridge that is used when teeth implants will be supporting the bridge instead of natural teeth. This solution involves an implant being inserted into the gaps and then a bridge being installed on top.

Who Can Have Teeth Implants?

You cannot have implants inserted if your mouth is in an unhealthy condition. There must be no gum disease or bacteria present at all. Another problem that could be encountered is if the mouth does not have enough bone. This can be fixed with a bone graft or augmentation procedure which will take place before the implants are placed. Cost can also be an important factor when choosing implants. Whatever issues you might encounter there is a solution. We will offer treatment and cost plans to help your teeth get back to being healthy and looking great.

Procedure for Tooth Implants

The implant procedure can take different lengths of time. As a patient that has experienced no complications you should expect a procedure like this.

First off, the procedure will begin with an initial examination. This will include and X-ray and CT scan, these are preformed to see if there are any steps that need to be taken before the implants begin. These scans also create an impression for a custom model to be made. In some cases, a bone graft might have to take place if you do not have enough bone. If this an issue your dentist will discuss this with you.

The next step is inserting the implants. After your examination, the actual instillation can begin. The implants will be placed directly into your jaw bone to support the bridge. It can take eight to sixteen weeks for osseointergration (when the bone to connects to the implant). This time will be different for every patient, it depends on your bone quality. Your dentist will discuss an estimated time with you.

The last step is the crown and bridge attachment. When the implants are healed and fused to the jaw bone, an incision will be made on the top of the implant. A temporary bridge might be used for a few months until the gum has healed. On the final visit, the permanent bridge will be fitted.

How Long is Treatment?

The treatment time will vary from patient to patient. For a simple case, you should expect 4 to 5 appointments over four to five months. If the case is more complex you should expect treatment to take six to eight months.
