How can I prevent cavities?

Even if going to the dentist isn’t your idea of a great time, there’s nothing better than finding out your teeth and gums are healthy.

Unfortunately, tooth decay and gum disease are common dental concerns, but the good news is that you can prevent them by brushing and flossing your teeth and prioritising regular dental visits.

How Can I Prevent Cavities?

There are numerous ways to prevent tooth decay, including the following:

  • Brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste two times each day. Be sure to brush for two minutes each time.
  • Floss between each tooth at least once a day. This will remove stubborn plaque from the areas your toothbrush might miss.
  • Rinse your mouth with mouthwash to rinse away food particles and kill harmful bacteria.
  • Limit your consumption of sugary snacks and drinks. Instead, try to eat fruits and vegetables and drink water.
  • Visit your Parramatta dental clinic every six months for a routine exam and clean.
